At the harbour front you'll find Aarhus' beautiful Toldkammer that was designed by Hack Kampmann. This is where Madklubben Aarhus is located.
At the very end of Aaboulevarden and only a few steps from DOKK1 you'll find Madklubben Aarhus. It is located in Toldkammeret - a building that through the years has hosted everything from a student house to a concert venue. Even further back it was a vital part of business on the harbour.
The restaurants is spacious and can host almost 200 people at the same time. It still holds the original look and feel - with respect for it's history. For instance the old elevator still stands - and is now used as a wine cooler. The interior is characterized by furniture that has origins in Danish design.
You will always find a menu that is up to date with seasonal ingredients and is not tied to any specific cuisine but rather gives you a whole palette of options so everyone can find something to their likings.
Madklubben's concept is simple and created with the founder Anders Aagaard's wish in mind to create a restaurant with room for everyone on any given day of the week. You can choose between 1,2 or 3 servings and you won't leave hungry no matter what you choose. At the same time the prices are very friendly - and we always focus on giving you value for money.
Mike Everingham
Since the opening of Madklubben Aarhus, Mike has played a central role in the heart of the restaurant - namely the kitchen. Today he is head chef and ensures that all guests gets a special dining experience.
Thomas Nissen
Thomas has been part of the Madklubben Aarhus since its early days. In fact, he helped as a mover before the restaurant was even finished.
Since then he has been in almost every role in the restaurant. Waiter, inspector, bar manager, assistant restaurant manager, sommelier and now restaurant manager. The beard has gotten shorter since 2018, and so has the hair, but Thomas has his feet firmly planted on the ground of Madklubben Aarhus.
Peter Madsen
5 years ago, you could find Peter on a beer crate in the large empty rooms, which was to become Madklubben Aarhus. Today he is the gastronomic manager of both Madklubben Aarhus, Hanzō, Grill Åboulevarden, Mamma's and Food Club.
He is the man behind the menu, and ensures a complete gastronomic line when it comes to composition, presentation and taste.
