Assistant Restaurant Manager

Who are you?

  • Your daily work will take place in the restaurant, and the majority of your time will be spent with your team and guests on the floor.
  • Together with the restaurant manager, you will have overall responsibility for the daily operations of the restaurant, and your greatest asset is your staff. You are the restaurant manager’s right hand and will work closely with them to ensure everything comes together seamlessly.
  • The role includes, but is not limited to, building a team of middle managers and employees, with your primary task being to keep them highly motivated, as you clearly understand that without your staff, nothing functions.
  • Furthermore, you are responsible for ensuring that staffing in the restaurant is always perfectly aligned during your shifts, including adhering to your budgeted labor cost percentage and general financial management.
  • In addition, there may be secondary responsibilities such as managing the beverage inventory, ordering supplies, preparing menu, wine, and cocktail lists, as well as optimizing restaurant operations, service, cleanliness, and more.

  • An engaged leader who is passionate about service and leadership, and who enjoys interacting with guests.
  • You should thrive in a busy, fully booked restaurant on a Friday evening, while being just as present and committed on a quieter Tuesday night.
  • You love developing both leadership talent and team members, and you enjoy being part of a young, dynamic team.
  • You have management experience from the industry.
  • You have a strong interest in wine and general product knowledge. A sommelier qualification is preferred, but not required.
  • You are skilled at planning service and equally good at delegating tasks in a motivating and constructive way.
  • You have a positive, can-do attitude and see challenges rather than problems. You enjoy a fast-paced environment, while also appreciating the opportunity to focus on thorough planning and optimization of restaurant operations.
  • You are financially responsible and lead by example to ensure profitable restaurant operations.
  • You are experienced in working with KPIs and are driven to make today better than yesterday.
  • You thrive working evenings and weekends.
